Hornets Hype

In a basement. In our pajamas.

CP bobbleheads AND shirts! Not that we haven’t had our own version :-) for months, but at the Golden State game on Sunday, everyone at the arena is going to get a CP MVP shirt! And the game’s nationally televised on ABC.

That place is going to look amazing.

And our Hornets are finally back on Friday.

BEST. WEEKEND. EVER.

….

Oh, and by the way, people keep telling me how awesome it was at the airport last night. Melvin Ely, Jannero Pargo, AND Chris Paul getting out and taking pics and signing autographs? I almost died this morning when I saw what we missed. I swear I will go every single time for the rest of the season. Believe me, I so wanted to go. And I get up at 5:30 AM every day of the week. It took an official evaluation BY THE STATE OF LOUISIANA at work today to keep me from going last night. Otherwise, to hell with 5 AM, I’d have been so there.

Damn you, State of Louisiana. Just kidding.

  1. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

About time they got some stuff out there to highlight CP’s MVP push.

  2. And if we all put them on RIGHT AWAY it will look awesome televised.

Of course, on the flipside, they won’t be smaller than XL… Maybe I will bring some scissors and get creative on that thing…

  3. Law II Section B of “Free T-Shirt Giveaway Within the United States” manual clearly states that “furthermore, no free t-shirt shall be smaller than a size XL, regardless of likely age, sex, or race of the recipient. Distribution methods of said free t-shirt are irrelevant.”

  4. You know, they could at least give two sizes: medium and extra-large. To simplify things, send the XLs to the upstairs entrance, while putting the mediums below. That would make it easy for the Hornets’ staff. While certain families, in particular, might face separation to get the right shirts, it is easier and more efficient to put the onus on the crowd to go make the trade themselves (not to mention mothers could take one kid, fathers the other, etc.). Just a thought.

  5. I like mW’s idea of an exchange between the upper and lower bowls. The t-shirt fan exchange could be a method to throw off the Warriors from their game. We would just make sure our team knows what is going on. When bloody battles break out in the stands from fans trying to get a M or XL shirt, the bewildered Warriors would ask our team what is going on, and the Hornets will shrug their shoulders and say (bobbing their head up and down) “Ya Got me!” Thence, the Warriors will shoot 4-87 overall, and the Hornets would take the victory easily thanks to “CP3 4 MVP T-Shirt Giveaway Frenzy in the Stands ’08″. It all sounds reasonable, rational, and efficient to me.

  6. I would dive over as many people as I had to to grab a M shirt. I know how to throw an elbow too.

  7. besides giving away those shirts at the door, are they going to sell any?

  8. I haven’t seen the shirt yet. Maybe they’ll make it available??

  9. I always use the free XL shirts I get as nightgowns. They’re very flattering on me.

  10. Seriously. I have about 4 Hornets shirts I wear exclusively to sleep in or around the house on weekends. I swim in them. You’d think they could maybe make them a large at least. Oh well. But if everyone will have them in the crowd, regardless of fit ticktock is totally right. It’ll look awesome on TV. Like when everyone had the yellow flags our first nationally televised game. That looked really good.

  11. Hey maybe for tonight’s game, I’ll strap a belt around one of my Hornets dresses and go with the 80′s look!
