Oh, Yahoo

This article is fishyYou disappoint me.

All that love for us two weeks ago… the features, the photos, the columns… and now? You have slain me with your betrayal, Adrian Wojanawawhatever. And, actually, at the same time provided a nice example for my 7th grade English class on how not to write a journalistic article. So hey, there’s that.

Bryant shouldn’t have to wait anymore for MVP,” declares the title of the article.

No one needs historical context to make the case for Bryant this year. His season stands on its own. At 29, this isn’t a lifetime achievement award.

OK, so it’s not a lifetime achievement award. I’m glad we established that… before writing an entire article explaining how it is a lifetime achievement award. That’s called a contradiction. Not to mention the glaring grammatical error in the last sentence. So the award is 29, eh?

There isn’t a player in the league that I love more to talk with, that I love more to watch play, than Paul.

Yet, he will have to go No. 2 on my ballot. He hasn’t been first-team All-NBA. He still hasn’t played in the postseason.

‘Cause the MVP is a postseason award, and it’s also based on what you did last year. Who knew? You know, I was gonna dissect this some more, but I decided it wasn’t worth the time. Suffice to say it’s a poorly written article saying that CP3 hasn’t been in the league enough years to be MVP this year.

At least this piece of garbage column comes complete with a photo of Kobe Bryant looking like a fish. At least they gave me that.

  1. Maybe he should’ve mentioned CP’s love for bowling, and how no one that bowls would ever get his NBA MVP vote. That would have seemed relevant too.

  2. Yeah, I didn’t even link to this because it doesn’t make sense. There are some great arguments out there for Kobe as MVP, but this isn’t one of them.

  3. That fish thing is a riot. :)

  4. The Yelling Guy says:

I voted for you for best rookie blogger!

  5. Did anyone see the two articles on ESPN under the Kobe by-line on the NBA homepage? Both said CP should get it over Kobe. One was by Jemele Hill and I think the other was by Scoop Jackson.

  6. How are you blogging? Where ARE you anyway?

I saw those articles the other day. Interesting that they said two different things (Kobe will win but shouldn’t vs. Kobe won’t win b/c he’s hated and CP is also great) and came to the same conclusion.

Kobe who????? No one cares about him. He is old news. CP3 for MVP!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I am an injured vet who has too much time on his hand so this season was a blessing to me. I’ve followed the hornets since their expansion draft, larry johnson, muggsy bogues, glen rice, pj brown, then I went to germany came back and have followed them since. I love that we finally have a coach is who looking at the big picture and a great floor leader like paul. You can tell when your team is good because people start to hate you for nothing, they start saying you are all hype. They get mad when their ball hog is not getting all the attention so I love this site, it is good to have some positive press out there. I bought my paul for MVP shirt and have been wearing it all around california which people love me for :D . I just hope they don’t screw him out of his MVP award because “kobe scored 81 points”(which means his team sucked) or because “kobe can jump over a car”(in a commerical which has squat to do with an MVP award) or because simply he is kobe bryant which is without a doubt the most annoying thing I hear from his fans. So keep up the good work and if you are ever bored just go to the nba.com fan voice area and see how special these kobe fans really are, it’s mind boggling.
