There was a lot of talk over at Hornets247.com about the officiating too. I'm going to agree with Ron Hitley from that site, that the officiating last night was pretty fair. There are always good and bad calls--and anyone who's been here often knows I have been critical of the officiating several games this year--but I felt there was no real bias in this game. The Mavs got the calls because they were driving to the basket more than we were and we were fouling them more than they were us.

I think that even if the officiating does become a problem in this series, the Hornets have to find a way to win regardless. At least that's my two cents.

Dirk is like kobe, they will get their points it is how we handle the rest of the team that matters. Game 1 we shut down the mavs, dirk got his 30 but we shut down the rest of the team that is what we have to do. Same thing for manu and the spurs just good one on one defense and do the best you can on their primary scorer. I still think after watching it last nights game was ridiculous and after they said the spurs got help from the refs to win last year it scares me to death thinking they might rip off the hornets or something with bad calls(I mean really 30 plus fouls in a game on every trip and paul was getting hit hard and nothing).

It's just heat of the moment, and I feel both Coach Scott and Stackho are being idiots. The Hornets need to finish the Mavericks quickly, because the longer we prolong this series, not only are we going to tire ourselves out, but San Antonio appears to be rolling (extra rest), and plus scouting folks can take notes from these losses and counter CP.

For example, remember last year with Dirk? Double team him with two mobile defenders, get him to go off the dribble and the team becomes not nearly as efficient. People took notes of this. CP needs to keep trying to demolish the defense so scouts do not come up with a confident solution to containing CP. They've already seen the defense with the high pick and roll, which is our bread and butter, so therein lies a big problem.

Although good read on Byron Scott. Awesome statistics in the playoffs.

I agree. I think those of us who have watched the Hornets all year really believe that they're the 4-1 team in this series, not the 4-3 team (let alone anything involving a loss). How we handle this series will likely affect how we're able to handle the next round (being optimistic here, so sue me). It's mental. We need to believe really that we're a superior team. So let's hope we do.

Yeah, I'm definitely worried that Sunday is crucial. Do I think the Hornets would win out over 7? Yes. But they have to clamp down NOW... look what's up next if they get through Dallas.

Have to treat Game 4 like a must win. But it's hard to believe CP and DW will combine again for such a horrible shooting night. That's a nice upside there. And dear lord, Tyson has to watch the fouls and West needs to go down low more and not settle for jumpers like he did last night.

I honestly think last night was a case of fear, we haven't won in dallas since the muggsy bogues days. I remember when it was just a losing streak at the beginning of the year, the team looked confident about beating them in new orleans. They need to get that back and go into the game with that state of mind and they can win it. I'm sure we could win if it went to seven but we have to end this series because the spurs look like they are gonna be really fresh.

I don't know what to do. It doesn't matter if we go or not. We've only been to 2 of the five. IF THEY HAVE IT, THE HORNETS LOSE. And yet they are continuing to forge on and have one on Sunday. 0-5. This is the playoffs. They need to cancel that shit. No way we're going.

But as I said, it doesn't matter.
