I guess kidd had a smile on his face, so it wasn’t a menacing gesture. In the nba’s point of view I guess pargo will get a fine cause I’m sure he was scared as hell when he got yanked out of the air like that. I’m starting to not like david stern, first it was the crap with the sonics(they’ll always be the seattle sonics to me) and some of his decisions have been awful. Like last year after they admitted the spurs had help winning with that ref on their side. And this year we had some major games(mvp candidate vs mvp candidate game in L.A.) which was just full of bad calls. Sometimes it seems like they are just putting the more popular person ahead which is frustrating. If the hornets shots weren’t falling and the lakers were then I’d understand but that night I could not watch it was just garbage.

Well, perhaps I didn’t make myself entirely clear. I’m actually defending Kidd the person. Kidd the player DID pull Pargo, and Kidd the player SHOULD be suspended. I’m just saying all’s well that ends well, but there should still be consequences. But anyway, Kidd ISN’T suspended, so let’s just take care of business and stay home.

But what is going on with that article (not to mention it goes to some golf page for me)? Menacing gestures! HAHAHA. In other news, David Stern has officially announced his self-promotion to Dictator. All hail!

Okay, one more point? From ESPN.com: “Pierce, Stevenson fined $25,000 each for ‘menacing gestures.’” WTF? I quote: “The image-conscious Stern said the league is serious about its crackdown. ‘”We’ve got extraordinarily gifted athletes playing a special game,’ he said. ‘We’re not going to let it degenerate into something else. Period.’” End quote.

I’m not sure intent should control Kidd’s fate. He grabbed another man’s head and pulled down. If he was going for the ball, he would have swatted it away or tried to pull it down and in–but he just tossed Jannero’s head to the ground.

As someone else mentioned above, the fact that Jannero wasn’t injured shouldn’t be determinative either. Because we’re not punishing (or not) his athleticism or reaction time. Rather, we’re talking about a player committing an action which has the potential to seriously injure another. And that’s what Kidd did.

And the fact that it wasn’t intentional (allegedly) could even make it worse. If a man is going to be so careless that he would potentially drop a man on his head from four feet up means he has no place on the floor. These are professional athletes! They need to know how to control themselves.

So do I want Kidd to play? Sure, he’s a malcontent, who despite his great basketball IQ has ultimately achieved little in his career, and already given up on this series. But should he? No way.

True, but I don’t think anybody in the league (sans a select few) really try to injure to the potential damage Hobbit could have incurred. I believe JKidd isn’t one, but of course, this is just speculation and opinion.

As long as Hobbit is good, I think we’re all pretty happy, considering Kidd has been pretty expendable this series, and the boys in teal would probably benefit with Kidd on court. Mwahaha

Oh I totally agree. I think at the beginning it looked like he was going for ball. But he crossed the line when he didn’t let go. It looks like a pulling motion.

B Scott on the Hornets’ reaction to the play:
“If Jannero wasn’t as athletic as he is, and able to put his hands down to break his fall, there is no telling what could’ve happened. His head was headed straight to the floor. But I’m very proud of how our guys have handled those situations.”

Also watch the tape, kidd could have gotten the ball, if he chose the ball instead of the head he might have got the strip, it really looks like he tried to hurt him.

People say he may not have meant for it to be that bad but if you grab someone by the neck, the freakin’ neck while they are going up in the air you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know what direction his body will go, and that his head first into the floor.

It looked for a second like a fight was going to break out, but luckily Pargo and Peja were there to keep everyone smart.

It was way scarier live, because until they did the replay I thought he really did fall on his head. I don’t think it was intentional per se… but I do think he hung on a bit too long to Pargo’s head. And afterwards… he didn’t even look like he cared. Maybe it didn’t look as bad to Kidd as it looked to everyone else and maybe he got out of the way so JuJu didn’t run him down, but dude, want to at least ask him if he’s OK?

Geez, glad I didn’t catch this on live air. While I don’t think Jason Kidd planned on really clocking him THAT badly, you gotta be weary of that sort of stuff, intentional or not. Suspension imminent. Pargo +1.

Thank the Lord Pargo didn’t end up TJ Ford style too (but TJ Ford’s a bastard in real-life, so eh). And MUCH props for not fighting, cause if that happened to my teammate, I’d be throwing bows everywhere. At the bench, even.
