Like it or not, the NBA MVP is a you have to earn it thing. You can't just be the best (ask Lebron). You have to prove you can do on a consistent basis (a la Kobe), or end up in first place in the toughest division. Honestly, the Hornets had 1st wrapped up and the blew it.
