OK, so here’s what I’ve decided. Maybe some calls in a certain 30 second stretch were sketchy. Maybe Robert Horry’s pick on David West was dirty.
It is possible they weren’t.
But there were a lot of us who were too furious to be objective last night and, frankly, I see it continuing into today.
Therefore I declare the previous thread, entitled “The Vitruvian Ref,” to be a SAFE SPACE.
There you may bitch all you want regardless of language or rationality. But let’s keep it there. And I, meanwhile, will moderate all Spurs troll comments OUT of that thread.
Yeah, you heard me. As I said, maybe we’re right, maybe we’re wrong, but this is my space and I’m going to give us one thread in which to bitch our hearts out. We’re all fans who get fired up. You’d be doing it if it was your team.
Now. Everyone else who doesn’t want to bitch, feel free to comment in this thread, where we will hopefully keep all talk of breaking glass and throwing things limited. If you’re an objective third party/Spurs fan and you want to come up here and talk, we’re perfectly willing to show you we can be reasonable. But don’t go down there and try to tell us we’re homers, whiners, the worst fans ever, etc. and the Hornets suck. I will kick your ass out.
FURY THIS WAY. ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER.

Thank you Ma’am! I woke up seething this morning and needed to vent.
Did you meet them at the airport?
I still wanted to go, for a show of support, and with a huge DAVID WEST sign which I might make anyway for Monday, but unfortunately people seemed to be too angry/drunk.
The tags on this thread made me laugh when I thought laughter wasnt possible.
SHENANIGANS!!!!!!!!!!! sorry had to say it, seriously if the NFL has a replay where all officials judge a call the NBA should have one, all these fouls slow the game down anyway might as well make sure they are actually happening
I actually read that incorrectly and thought THIS was the bitching post until I read the comments.
THAT would’ve been embarrassing.
Nah, the bitching thread uses a lot more words that begin with F…
Commentary from ESPN. Playoff awards. While I don’t agree with DX (brother is STILL underrated?!), most of this stuff fits well. Linkage!

I officially boycott neutral representation of the aforementioned events said to have taken place on the night of May 15, 2008.
Nonetheless, everyone make your own choice:

CP did commit both fouls. Bowen did flop. Twice. And Duncan flopped (if you really want to call it, he fouled West for body contact and for a moving ‘screen’).
So that’s 2/3. Pretty great officiating because I love Tim Donaghy.
If he flopped, they weren’t fouls. Both times Chris barely used his arm and Bowen went flying. Same on the West thing on Duncan. If you watch the second angle on the replay, Tim falls BEFORE West’s arm goes out. He was just leaning into Duncan, and so logically, his hand pulled away when Tim fell. Clever, but a flop.
Didn’t y’all say something about someone having a “Stop the Flop” sign in the arena?
I think it needs to be busted out again for Game 7. They put it up on the jumbotron during Game 5 with Dallas, right after Nowitzki flopped and was shooting free throws, and the whole place just spontaneously started chanting “STOP THE FLOP! STOP THE FLOP!”
“Stop the Flop” person in Section 116 (I think): If you see this, bring it back!!
She was in Section 116
Maybe my definition of flopping doesn’t necessarily coincide with the universal one, but flopping to me is excessive movement not warranted by the offending action.
So even if there was a foul, Bowen flailing his arms and falling into the crowd is a flop. But if say, Bruce Bowen kicks Wally Szczerbiak in the face, I’m not sure you can ‘flop’. I mean, come on, you’re being kicked in the face.
I hear you, man. By the way, did you see the pic linked on hornets247 with Bowen, again, putting a leg up in Peja? The man is a soccer player. If so, someone should go Zidane on him.
