True. NBA Coverage is sparse these days. Of games that is. I’m sure there’s all kinds of Finals nostalgia here and there. Especially on NBAtv. Nonetheless, my NBA Hunger Strike has continued. No basketball since the Hornets lost. A modicum of Hornets blog reading, but no major media outlets. As you all know, The End hit me hard. It didn’t feel right. San Antonio fans might disagree with that sentiment with our series, but are likely just as bitter about their own team’s demise. The Stern Button has been activated. The big markets win. Celtics-Lakers Finals. But still, I am a basketball fan. A huge one. So I’m wavering. There are a lot of storylines that intrigue me about these finals.

I might watch. One more day to consider it. Thoughts?

Haha, I know how you feel. I almost did the strike myself. I told myself that I would only watch the ECF, but I ended up watching Game 6 of the WCF as well. Satisfying, nonetheless, to see the Spurs knocked off, despite my dislike of Kobe and the Lakers.

Don’t do it!! Oddly enough, I feel less inclined to watch this series than Detroit-Boston. If I could keep away from that, def not gonna fall prey to this.

I think we have discussed my newfound love for Paul Pierce.

Watch, and we can root for opposite teams and drink beer!

Well, as I have already admitted, prior to moving to Nola, I was a Lakers fan…I love Phil Jackson as a coach, and Kobe, well, say what you will about him, but he’s an amazing player. And dammit, I do like their team. But KG has always been one of my favorite players; so has Pierce for that matter (and they do have Scot Pollard on the roster) Hmmmm….

The one good thing about the long break between rounds is that I’m finally ready to watch NBA again - just in time for the Finals.

I honestly didn’t watch a single minute of either Conference Finals Series.

    Fuck San Antonio.

I dare say it was worth it. Good game. Classic moment as Pierce returns from a seemingly serious injury to a roaring ovation…

That whole refusal-to-give-KG-MVP-love thing is lookin pretty smart right about now…
