Matt-- What, you don't watch the CST guys? You are totally missing out if you aren't watching Bob and Gil. Their broadcasting specialty is PUNS! Yes! And bad ones!

saltandcarbon-- I figured it was just me being picky. I'll get over it. It's not like we're big enough for ads to be a huge moneymaker... but I do have (minor) costs, and I'm going to be experimenting with different stuff this summer.

Maybe I'm COMPLETELY unobservant, but didn't notice the ad at all until you mentioned ticktock. Still a stellar blog by stellar folk - that's the real point.

I was rooting for the Magic in the East. I liked what I saw with them and as a reformed Kings fan, like Hedo and am glad he's a starter now.

My only complaint with the Magic is their announcing team. Never heard a more snarky team when they played the Hornets. Just could NOT give the bees any credit for anything. Compare that to the Heat announcing team who were upbeat and positive even though they had a dog of a team. Being a Hornets fan, I understand how hard it must be to announce for a team that is doing that poorly, but they did a great job. The two announcing groups work for the same company and I actually wrote a letter to the company to let them where my esteem lies and doesnt lie between them. Considering I dont even know who OUR TV announcers are, you can imagine what a strong impression they made.

Magic... interesting pick. But I could see it. Young star player on the verge of being dominant. Like us.

God. I hate. That ad. On the top.

I'm trying to get over it.

It's probably not as noticeable to anyone else as it is to me. For instance when I go to other sites I tune them out and don't even see them. But here where I spend hours editing one bit of CSS it's making me insane.

Right on.

I think I'm definitely not going to back away from what I said below. There's fire, and then there's the fire you saw in those guys' eyes last night. I think they had to lose for all those years to know how to come out and execute like that.

You fell asleep for the press conference, but Ray Allen finally elaborated and said basically that his 17 month old son was sick before the game Sunday and they thought it was a virus, so they took him to the hospital. They ran tests and found out he has diabetes. He was like (paraphrasing), "It's obviously going to be a lifestyle change for all of us and I'm going to read up on it in the offseason, but after all that happened this weekend I really wanted to come out and focus and get this." YEAH. The guy is apparently superhuman.

I think you also missed KG crushing Miller Lite cans and Gatorades with his bare fists onto people in the locker room. It was terrifyingly awesome, and I now want him at all my major life milestones. Do you think he does weddings? Haha.

Finally, I am experimenting with putting ads on the site, and it's going to take some getting used to. Not to mention that I'll be moving things in the sidebars around a little longer. Just FYI.

Although I was rooting for the Lakers, I have no problem with the Celtics winning. Not only did they put away all talk of conspiracies and referreeing with a near-40 point blowout win, but they had a good team of guys.

I've said all year that PP was this team's MVP, and it was he who should have placed third in the NBA MVP race, not KG (with all due respect to the Big Ticket), and now feel somewhat vindicated with his Finals MVP. I've always loved PP's game and I remember cheering for him and 'Toine versus the Pacers, in particular. In this series, the only thing that stopped him was foul trouble. Of equal note, his complete unstoppability against the Cavs in Game 7, a game (like the Hornets final Game 7), where after the home teams going 134-1, the NBA suddenly and irrationally decided it would be more fair to give the calls to the road team who in no way, shape, or form, had earned such an honor over the couse of the regular season, lest people accuse the league (gasp) of having an agenda.

Anyway, as for the others? KG is KG. Man, I have loved his game since his early days, and always loved his intensity. Having a best friend in law school from Minny only cemented my respect for him as we watched a lot of his games in those years. And seriously, his play the entire second half? Have you ever seen a fire buring in a man's eyes so strong? He wasn't going to let up for anything. Too bad there's no award for that. Oh wait, there is, it's called the championship. Meanwhile, seriously, ABC, at what point did you think, "okay, now is probably the moment KG will stop spouting 'yeah motherfucker.'" Seriously, the man was so geeked up it was like he had Tourette's.

And Ray Allen. The man apparently had pretty serious OCD. His kid was hospitalized overnight before the prior game. He gets his nose/eye scratched and misses much of the first half. And still, he could feel nothing but net, draining a Finals record 7 three-pointers on 7-9 shooting. He too felt the end, and wasn't taking his foot off the Lakers' collective throats.

With all three able to play most of the series, the Celtics big three did what the Lakers big four-minus-one were unable to do in 2004: enter a season with the overwhelming expectation of winning a championship, and then actually doing it. Congrats.
