According to ESPN, trading the #27 pick to Portland tomorrow for cash.
Oh, see, this is kinda lame if it’s true. We couldn’t get anything interesting for it? At all? I don’t know anything about anything, but the Hornets were still bringing guys in for workouts today. What about all the money they wasted on that?
The Hornets rarely bore me. But this bores me. I am terribly bored.
On a scale of one to lame… this is lame.
Lame? Yes. The lamest lame in all of Lamesville.
Unless… Does “cash considerations” mean we will have more cap room etc to go after Collison or Haslem or Rony or another backup big? Because holyshit that would make me one happy Bee.
Otherwise, just polly wolly lame.
I think from what I’ve read they can’t use the cash in free agency. So… yeah. The only way this helps is that they don’t have to pay someone the guaranteed rookie contract (maybe they realized they already had the useless contracts of Rasual Butler and Mike James on their hands?)
But we still get schwag and honeybees tomorrow, right?
I…I…I NEEEED IT!
Apparently they’re still having it, so we can watch other teams draft and deal. Whoo.
When they call out the 27th pick, we can all scream “KA-CHING!!”
They have beer at said party as well.
The hornets have chosen something that the better teams usually choose to do, they are taking money over the pick because they can sign veterans who are already at the level we need them to be at.
It only saves them $1 million tops… are we really that tight with our cap situation? (Actually, I mean, yes I know we are, but it still doesn’t seem like they gained a lot…) Really it just isn’t interesting to me whereas a trade would be. That’s why I said I was bored rather than upset or dissatisfied.
We might still go to the party and drink the beer… watch the wheeling and dealing… but it’s not the BEST kind of beer, though.
Looks like they might get as much as $3 mil for that pick…
