Significantly, ESPN is reporting that doing so is only possible if the Clips renounce their rights to Maggette. Although, possibly to our detriment, this also means (according to the folks at Clips Nation) that a sign & trade involving Maggette is out the window. So, CM really does have to choose between getting cash from a loser or an MLE from a contender. I presume he's had enough of the former to choose the latter. But which contender? Meanwhile, the Grizzlies signed Marc Gasol to a 3 year $10 mil deal. As for Maggette, both the Celtics and Magic have reported offered him their MLE of $5.5. mil, although the L.A. Times reports he's looking for closer to $11 mil. The Spurs and Warriors are also looking to go after CM, and while the former has probably only an MLE to offer, the latter suddenly finds itself with plenty of cap room. Basketball is huge in Europe, although it is relatively impossible for me to follow them we could find tallent and, if George Shinn is willing, Pay them for prospects of playing for us.
