Hornets Hype

In a basement. In our pajamas.

More Madness.

By on July 10, 2008

Nola.com reports the Hornets are pushing hard to get James Posey. Elsewhere, the Spurs have signed Roger Mason away from the Wizards; in response, the Wiz signed Dee Brown to an offer sheet (he played in Turkey last year, and no, not that Dee Brown; the Jazz own his rights and can match the offer). Ex-Spur, Brent Barry, has signed with the Rockets. Everyone and their mother is still looking at Josh Smith (mothers that have cap space, that is).

This leaves Sasha Vujacic, Ronny Turiaf, Ricky Davis, Jannero Pargo, and Emeka Okafor as some of the big names left not named Posey or Smith.

I would love to see us get posey. Brent barry to the rockets… hmmm nice choice there going to a team who will never contend.

  2. Michael says:

Hmmmm, pargo, wells, wright, posey, and……I guess armstrong/ely/andersen whomever proves themself worthy would be a seriously tough bench, course thinking about it with pargo, wells, wright, and then those three I don’t know why we are even looking we should just now be focusing on signing pargo and redeveloping andersen(and yelling at armstrong to get some confidence I mean how do you not have confidence YOU ARE IN THE NBA!!!)

  3. I don’t see why not sign Wells again. He’d be cheap and I haven’t heard rumors about him and anyone else. So he sucked in the Spurs series. He was good in the previous months.

Oh and apparently we were also looking at Hayes who has signed with the Nets. Who the hell knows if we’ll make moves…

  4. Well if we lose pargo and wells then that will really hurt us, we can’t have our stars playing 39 and 40 minutes a game, wells was an awesome contribution for us and is the sole reason we beat the celtics the time we did. And while pargo struggled against the spurs he lit up the mavericks and has had a lot of games where he picked up when paul struggled.

  5. Pargo was the other reason we beat the Celtics. CP was in foul trouble the whole game.

  6. Michael says:

Good point I forgot that part, it’s funny the few times Paul struggled Pargo would step it up and take over a game so they compliment each other very well

  7. I don’t know, E.J., despite their health issues, I’d say any team that can put up Yao and T-Mac will contend. Look what they did this year without Yao…adding Barry’s actually a really good move for them, and potentially worrisome for us.

  8. E.J. Rios says:

The rockets adding barry will make them better but seriously? I don’t see them giving us any problems in the playoffs. I could be wrong but i just don’t see them contending for a while, that 22 game streak was impressive but the only thing it did for them was get into the playoffs.

  9. By the way, TT6, nice catch on the Nets signing Jarvis Hayes. They also just picked up Najera…they’ve been signing a lot of players here…could it be they’re looking to trade Vince Carter for draft picks? It appears regardless Nachbar is the odd man out now…Conversely, Dallas just re-signed Antoine Wright, who the Mavs got this year in a trade with the Nets.

Elsewhere, will the Lakers match Golden State’s 4 year $17 offer sheet for Ronny Turiaf? Celtics signed 7′ ex-Warrior Patrick O’Bryant (could this mean they’re less likely to still be interested in Birdman?).

  10. Mopete and Posey’s stats are practicly the same exact stats… xcept Mopete’s younger why get a second Mopete? might split em up 24min 24min.
