Anyone else hear the announcer at the end of the last Summerleague game recap the score as the Charlotte Hornets 79 to the Cleveland Cavaliers 78?
Oh, they'll know where we are when CP and Professor Scott are holding up that trophy...

I guess I was floating the idea of Jannero and Bobby playing in the same backcourt - as solid as Jannero is at backup point, he seems more naturally a shooting guard to me. That backcourt would obviously be undersized, but with Hilton and Chris next to each other couldn't that work as a solid shortstop line of defence, a la what Camby did for Denver? That seems within our reach and makes sense to me as a pretty damn solid second unit, but I'm honestly not that well informed about our realistic options.

@ saltandcarbon: of course, that's assuming we re-sign Pargo or Anderson. But unless they end up trading James, and with BB's play in Vegas, I'm not sure it makes sense to sign Pargo. On the other hand, we still need help at the 4/5. So I'm not sure why they wouldn't sign Anderson, as giving Posey the full MLE precludes getting help from just about anyone else.

I like the Whitneyfier. Its not like his misses from beyond the arc were airballs, or even necessarily bad shots. And he was clutch on the fourth and OT. I'll take the risk of giving him minimum to come in behind CP, next to Pargo. Second unit of BB, Jannero, Posey, Armstrong and Andersen seems pretty solid to me.
Doesn't anyone want Mike James' lameass contract. The Grizz front office seem pretty dumb. So do the Bobcats. Maybe we could trade them James for Okafor. Or Okafor's granddad. Might do more for us than James.

Technically Henry Abbott is on vacation, so it's not his fault. :-D

But we can still blame ESPN. Hilton beasted today.

Hmmmmm....usually we at Hornets Hype love Henry Abbott's ESPN blog over at True Hoop, but he kind of blew it today: http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-33-62/NBA-Summer-League--Liveblogging-Day-7.html. First, he fails to list Hilton in the day's top 5 scorers, despite having what appears to be the 3rd best scoring title (something he strangely acknowledges further down the page). Then he adds that Bobby Brown "helped build the brick house by going 7-for-18." Really? That's not exactly miserable. Especially since he went 0-4 from long range, or in other words, he went 7-14 from inside the 3-point line, which is pretty good for a guard.

Incidentally, Mr. It's His Prerogative did make the front cover image of NBA.com's Summer League web page! Not bad for someone no one had heard of before Vegas.
