Just think about it. This could be the President shaking the NBA Finals’ MVP’s and Champion’s hand next June. Hornets. The only team in the NBA to have not lost a game since last May. Only 79 more games and 16 wins thereafter away.

Okay so I read the power rankings and race to mvp on nba.com and have to say I think rob peterson is afraid of laker fans or something, kobe is still doing the same thing he’s done for a decade so all of a sudden he’s more eligible for mvp now……very odd, also the lakers beat a injured clipper team(duh) an injured portland team, and the nuggets who they squashed last year in the playoffs how does this make them seem great. We just beat the team that took boston to seven games, we beat the phoenix suns(you know another playoff team last year) and the warriors WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET RECOGNITION OVER THAT STUPID ASS LAKER TEAM!!! lost all respect for rob peterson, after saying cause Paul struggled in one game he wasn’t mvp last year…..that was ridiculous and now this.
Yeah, that was pretty much ridiculous when it happened. Just because it was the week the votes were due.
Can’t wait to see what happens at next Weds’ game. Although SI did put the Hornets over Lakers.
I’ll say if we are completely healthy we are the best team easily in the league, but funny enough without peja and chandler we still spanked the cavs.
Imagine the team running on all cylinders. It’s a beautiful thing. Beat the Hawks! I’ll be rooting from afar.
Just to be clear. Is this post referencing the Hornets’ upcoming 82-0 season?
Well, I don’t see the 1996 Bulls on the 2008-09 schedule, so I am thinking yes.
@ ticktock6: yes this post is all about our undefeated season in 2008-09.
@ everyone else: for now, I’m okay with the Lakers holding down #1. I mean, come on, they are reigning Western Conference champs, who are undefeated so far, too. And while the quality of their opponent’s has been weak, they have won by an average margin of victory of 21.7 points a game. So don’t worry, folks, we play them soon enough, and we’ll show the world who is number one then.
ouch
So, 81-1.
Ok, I think the joke’s over…
Are you kidding? It’s totally 97-1.
But yeah, I’m totally a pessimistic superstitious person, so no mas on that joke for me. At least for a little bit.
too much laker love for me……..seriously they don’t deserve it they only beat the spurs because of a poorly officiated game otherwise it would have gone to seven instead of much shorter, hopefully we don’t see any crap like that this year after all the nba’s media attention about the new way of dealing with the refs…..hopefully
I also don’t hate on the Lakers, because it’s easy to hate on those that get ahead of you. Right now, we’re also starting to see that with the Hornets. Man, I don’t want people hating on us just because we beat them or are a better team. It’s karma.
Im originally from San Francisco. Hate for all LA sports teams is what made me a sports fan originallyl. Hate for Lakers is ingrained in my BBall DNA. If they go 0-82, I think they got too many wins.
it’s not about being a “hater” it’s about respect for the game and those who know it’s a team sport, so I hate players who put down their fellow teammates and encourage todays youth to do the same to those not as good as them. I also hate coaches who are called greats but only are willing to coach teams loaded with allstars. So anyone who is a true CP3 fan can only hate players like bryant who because of his name and endorsements steals things from those who deserve it.
