Well I'd put in on par with MJ or even a new age big O because he almost averages a triple double and now a days with the pace the game runs compared to the big O's time that is incredible.

You know, Viscount James has skill, no doubt. But the question now is it Michael Jordan talent, Kobe Bryant talent? Or is it Tracy McGrady talent, Karl Malone talent? You dig? Time will tell.

Didier, Bron Bron is a perfect example of a marketing tool gone right. Normally a cat with all those tats aren't too marketable (if memory serves me right), but he's been shaped and sculpted by the graces of Nike, NBA, and whatever other endorsements.

That's not to detract from his desire to win or whatever, but it does explain his facade. He's not being true to himself, and for that I will never be that big of a fan of Bron Bron himself.

I think the Pistons are going to get queen james. I never did like LJ's attitude. When he first got drafted I could not believe how poorly he spoke. This is comming from a podunk cajun french speaking family, who says T's like D's. He's gotten better now, but I thought he was Idiot savant or had mild down's. I dunno.

Um wow after seeing him take a crappy cleveland team deep into the playoffs for a few years in a row, take boston to seven games(and not get blown out in the last one cough la cough), put up numbers close to a triple double every night, and being able to play so many different positions affectively are just a few of his accomplishments. This is why I never bad mouthed james because he plays hard and he doesn't bitch out his teammates, he passes the ball a lot if you've seen him play and he is just a great all around player. I see more magic johnson in him than anyone else playing today. Of course I will boo his ass in the ground when playing the Hornets but I still respect his game and what he brings to the sport. Maybe you should put a column up bashing a different player whose ass gets kissed on a weekly basis....you know one who isn't doing that much this year but since his team is stacked with all stars and they are winning he gets credit simply because his name is more well known. Or maybe on a coach who is called one of the greatest but has only ever agreed to coach teams packed with allstars..........maybe.

Agree to disagree on LeBron's basketball ability, but I'm sticking with the nickname. Viscount James, that's classic.

Chris Bosh is from the good city of Dallas, so I'm with you ticktock.

Honestly, I don't agree with some of this post. Bron Bron does make his team better simply by his presence. His ability to draw 1, 2, maybe 3 defenders is characteristic of an elite player, but he's surprisingly capable of finding the open man given weakside help, or finishing at the rim (courtesy no-calls).

His slow-paced play could have been attributed to Coach K's playbook, but again, I'm rather proud to be ignorant of college sports. What I would say is that Bron Bron is probably LESS efficient in the open court, and is better under isolation plays, which emphasizes your complaint of a slower paced game. He's able to control fast breaks, but I would relegate that responsibility to your backcourt.

But yes, everything Bron Bron does is strictly marketing; the man is all about business. If winning a championship didn't boost sales, he would be quite sufficient with putting up monster stats and notching 0 'chips. He's stated it before, wanting to be the richest basketball player ever or something.
