Let's really mess up the system by staging a write in campaign for Ju-Ju as an Eastern Conference forward. See what they do with that.

iverson does not deserve any spot in the all-star game. my sarcasm with juju in the write in section was pointing out how some fans can be homers. how do you come out with a list before the season really gets going. rafer shouldn't be on the ballot. insane i tell you, insane. i'm pretty sure if we can come up with a website to vote juju in just to see if he can be a player who has not played on his own team to starting in the all-star game. it would show the flaws in this mockery of a process by stern. ericka dampier getting any votes is a travesty! as mark jackson says: to the world, you're better than that. or maybe they are not, lol.

OH OH, Bonzi News! (courtesy Dimemag)

52 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists.

It's good to hear positive from the Bonz! I think that translates to a 10-5-1 game in America, yes?

Taquito, I'm pretty sure taquitos alone account for more gas passing than chinese food.

The whole All*Star voting is ridic. Comical, even. The Yiyiyi situation is horrendous, and it's only a few years (or next year) before Sun Yue gets voted in the league.... for playing 4 games. Why they even put Yi on the ballot is ridiculous. The voting committee (of one who is a Dallas-native. I apologize on his behalf) obviously just followed the Stern Button.

Case in point: Greg Oden is on the ballot. For... missing 82 games due to injury? Even Erick Dampier deserves more respect than that. All the rookies on the ballot only emphasize the popularity contest aspect (like Grant Hill's induction as a rookie starter back in the day).

Joe Alexander, I believe, can speak chinese. Look out for him in the near future as well.

@mW: Oh, I never said Americans weren't stupid. They're probably stupider than Chinese people voting for TMac. Because they don't even have the excuse of nationalistic pride for their shitty voting. Just in this particular case of CP, I don't think they're the demographic to blame, though. Houston isn't that big of a metro area. I was going to point out Arenas in the post as well, but I thought I had digressed far enough at that point.

The point is, I think most people who watch basketball get that CP is the best point guard. Just like most people get that Dwight Howard is a dominant center. And the votes reflect that. CP's votes don't. Because some guy who is having a poor season but happens to be a Rocket is getting votes. I call LAME.

EDIT: Oh wait, I did mention Arenas further up in the comment thread. I knew I wasn't hallucinating that.

Yeah it is messed up! Even though it counts for a third of the actual voting turnout, you have a lot of population like china or houston players will be votted for popularity not phiysicality. I have to agree though Yao is the best center in the west(mainly for his 80+ percent for freethrow), but Ill be goodamn if Yi Jialain gets a starting position over LeBron or Chris Bosh!

All I'm saying is explain why AI and Arenas (who hasnt played at all) are the second and fifth vote getters as EC guards, why Kidd has more votes than Billups as WC guards, or Bruce Bowen, Josh Howard, and LaMarcus Aldridge have more votes than David West as WC forwards. There is plenty of American stupidity to go around.

Besides, whether it getting 200 million Chinese to care about the NBA, or just highlighting big market players who have bigger fan bases, this system gives Stern exactly what he wants, while putting the majority of the rosters in the coaches' hands.
