Okay, folks. Tough order today. A fully healthy Spurs team against a depleted Hornets squad. No Tyson. No Peja. Posey suspended. Hilton is gimpy. This would be a tough game at full strength, let alone with what we have. So can the Hornets win? I don’t know. But I know one thing.
Chris Paul and David West have to go Nova.
No iffs ands or buts. Well, unless we put up like 18 three-pointers, but Butler, Mo, and the rest of the cast haven’t seemed to have been putting up that many lately, let alone making them all. But otherwise, if our two All-Stars don’t rip it up, well, it’s back to the Ledge for Hornets fans. (Speaking of, haven’t seen those Phoenix people lately…where they at?) But I don’t see our guys failing. Win or lose, these two are going to leave it all out there.
CP and DX understand that this isn’t just another game to put one in the win column. This isn’t even important because it’s a Western Conference or Divisional game. Nope. This is the team that knocked us out of the playoffs last year. On our home court. In Game 7. It’s about revenge.
We can all say that we have good “character” guys, who don’t care about things like that. But I say that’s bullshit. These guys are competitors. They get angry. They harbor dark feelings. You may not see that side of them in interviews or at charity events, but if you watch our guys on the court, they have that dark fire in them. So tonight, I hope they will unleash that dark side. They’ll need it.

Apprehensive
I hope they win too… but the odds seem highly stacked.
I was so disappointed Friday against the Knicks… the below 0.5 Knicks riding a losing streak going into play NO…And Knicks are my home team too and i rooted for the Hornets…i’m a traitor but CP3 is too much love.
I just hope that NO will not fall to the 8th spot in the Western Conference and hopefully ride a winning streak till the playoffs to boost their chances of home court (but i think they’ll probably finish 5-8 at this rate by the ways things are going :/ )
Geaux Hornets!
yay!!!!!!!!!!!!
this game was crucial. Spurs 3-point choking helped us but CP3 was beyond amazing!!!
Wanna talk about team play? Only DWest got a double-double.
Off the ledge. We may not do quite so well down the stretch, but if a depleted Hornets can beat a healthy Spurs (and lets be honest, no one expected us to win), we can do -anything-
@ Matt: agreed.
@ Kal: totally.
This was a huge game, and one that no one I knew expected us to win, but this game was so amazing, my voice is raw from screaming so much. If the Hornets can build on this and lay waste to some soft road opponents, we will be sitting pretty.
I’m not sure we’re ever going to lose to the Spurs on our floor again.
And maybe, hey, if that’s what it takes….
Big ass win for our Hornets tonight! They needed this in the worst way. GEAUX HORNETS!
Great Win?great job,hornets!
We’re not that big, and we’re not that tough, but when we work together we got the right stuff… What’s gonna work? TEAMWORK! What’s gonna work? TEAMWORK!
If you don’t get it, you need to have a baby, wait about 2 years, and get Noggin. Bonus – It’s really fun to bring your kids to the game.
ticktock6, what the hell are those bitches whining about over at Dime in the comments about CP’s 3 point play? F*ck the haters.
They’re haaaaaaters. The fact is it’s legal and every good player practices gamesmanship like that. Except CP is uncommonly good at it for someone so young.
Not to mention that Finley barked at the refs for about a full minute after the call and absolutely deserved a tech. Either way, Bees would have shot 3 from the stripe.
Yeah mW you know if the Hornets were barking at the refs like that for that long they definitely would’ve ended up with a tech.
Haha! Check out this guy at the 8:13 mark talking about CP’s 3 point play.
