#2 Fantastic post. It’s spot on about how the media is more and more becoming sensational. ESPN, CNN, etc. only lose credibility the more they gossip instead of resport news. It’s not just the content they “report” on, but the language they use. Rather than report things, they are going out of their way to trash the news subjects. It truly is the era of Rush Limbaugh and talk radio, where ANYTHING can be said, and whatever it is that is said or written, people treat as fact.

We posted that Iverson would be a good fit for the Hornets. That’s not a fact. It’s not from a “reliable souce”. It’s just our opinion. Some people share it, some don’t. It’s not “news”. Like TT6 says, sometimes the blogs etc. DO break news. But sometimes they’re just talking. Same with major media. Readers/listeners/watchers HAVE to be intelligent enough to know the difference.

Hornets organization were completely in the wrong not informing CP3 prior to Scott’s firing. Like Paul himself states, it’s not that he wants organizational decisions going through him, but rather – as the face of the franchise – simply wants to avoid being blindsided as he so obviously was by yesterday’s news.

As much as I defend the existence – and public perceptions of – small-market franchises, it is remarkably easy in this circumstance for Hornets front office to come across as a bunch of flyover-state hillbillies. They best get with the program in the next couple years or have a certain #3 opt out of his contract.
